It is ok to mix old and new lithium batteries in parallel, or even batteries from different manufacturers and with different capacities, so long as they are the same voltage. Some are literally just resellers who re shrink in a new wrap using below par cells form major brand producers, the issue is weeding out the poor sellers and the better producers of less known origin. Recently I had him build me - using Samsung 40T 21700 cells - a 52v, 32ah pack with an 80a continuous BMS for my 2wd cargo bike. Alternately, you can separate the batteries and charge each with its own charger and then connect them in parallel just for discharging.The controller case in the slider (that most do not even use) has been removed, freeing up space to make a 56 cell (52V) battery, without compromises. I subsequently replaced the 15amp BPM with a 30amp BPM that prevented this issue from occurring, as the OEM batteries from Cyrusher come with a 30amp BMS.
