About this deal

Fortunately, getting started with Admech is pretty easy, with the one-box option of Combat Patrol: Adeptus Mechanicus. This gets you an Enginseer, 10 Skitarii, 3 Kataphrons, and a Onager Dunecrawler which will give you a good introduction to the Omnissiah. There are two previous bundles that you might see, hidden away at your friendly local game store: Start Collecting! Adeptus Mechanicus and Start Collecting! Skitarii. These are both out of print now, but you can occasionally find them at MSRP which makes them a great deal. This Boarding Patrol contains 17 models in total – one gunslinging Kelermorph inspires a team of 10 Acolyte Hybrids, who can also be built as Hybrid Metamorphs, while a hulking Abominant is joined by his little Mindwyrm Familiar friend, and five nearly-as-hulking Aberrants. So, expect them all to have a lot of foot sloggers, but again, the values have been all over the place, so we’ll have to see the final price. From the looks of it, GW may release one of these box sets for every faction… From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call a temple will wither and you will beg my kind to save you.

This versatile box provides bodies, ballistics, and big-hitters for you to join the eternal quest to uncover archeotech and fragments of holy STC from the ancient Arks of Omen. Somethign to keep in mind is that many of these units are cheap (in points) and expensive (in dollars) at the same time. Frequently, the strongest way of taking them in spamming large units, 5x Ironstriders, 20x Skitarii, etc. This is where the money-intensive aspect of the army comes in – whatever you want to build, you are probably going to want a lot of it. It is gonig to be time-consuming to build and paint, and you are vulnerable to having a ton of expensive models that then fall out of the meta or get significantly changed in a new codex. If you love the faction that isn’t so big of a deal, but do think about it before you buy in hard.

More Skitarii– In 9th edition, our Skitarii got cheaper points-wise, deadlier, and double the amount can fit in a single unit. Regardless how how many of these you have, you’ll probably want at least a couple more. Ah, the Blood Angels– noble and civilised sons of Sanguinius, most handsome, tragic, star-crossed and pretty of all the Emperor’s ‘Primarch’ sons. These renaissance Italy-themed space marines are among the most storied and popular chapters of the Adeptus Astartes.

She’s joined by five Celestian Sacresants, nine Sisters Repentia whipped into a frenzy by a Repentia Superior, and 10 Battle Sisters who can be built as Dominions or Celestians, plus one Cherub lugging a censer along for the ride (because these ships can smell a bit after millennia in the warp and the STC for pine-scented air fresheners is sadly lost to the Age of Strife). This box is interesting because it’s the first one with an entire squad of Repentia! A lot of the boxes had like three of them for whatever reason, so this is just fun to see. This is a pretty combat-focused box, but overall seems pretty decent. Boarding Patrol: Adeptus Custodes Ironstrider Ballistarii– These are Admech in a nutshell. Dirt cheap points-wise, very expensive dollars-wise, and strong firepower with a great looking model. A pair of them can punch a hole in your opponent’s line, and five of them in a single unit can wreak havoc on an unprepared opponent. These are sort of like small Combat Patrol boxes but made specifically to be fielded for games of Warhammer 40k Boarding Actions. Each Combat Patrol is supposed to be balanced against all the others. That might be hard to believe when looking at the contents of the Adeptus Custodes box set, as the boys in gold are notoriously hard!Well, we are finally getting a box without a ton of Tzaangors! So, right off the bat, this box is great because you just get a ton of Rubric Marines. However, it does say you’ll get two Chaos Spawns, but the picture only has one, so let’s hope you actually do get two, as the standard box from GW does come with two. All the Latest Warhammer Rules & Model Rumors In this article, I’m going to lay out some of the highlights you can expect when first embracing the Omnissiah, as well as some of the tribulations you should anticipate when appeasing the Machine Spirit. Aesthetic– Models in this faction are utterly distinct from any other. The 60s era retro-futuristic Kastelan Robot, the wasteland cavalry Serberys Raider, the spider-tank Onager Dunecrawler: every model in this faction is positively dripping with style.
