About this deal

Austin then moved up to the net, “I started off with a few volleys going long but once I worked out my rhythm I was finding it really easy to get my spots, getting nice depth on my volleys and closing it out really well.” It’s also not a string that produces a huge amount of spin, so it would be a good test of the Radical’s spin potential. Head Speed– The Speed tennis racquet has a slightly larger, more forgiving frame. Head offers versions for most skill levels. The 16×19 string pattern makes it very spin-friendly as well. The weight and graphene 360+ technology help with defending against faster-paced shots with sufficient comfort.

The Radical MP's characteristics came together nicely on Jason's serves. He said, "I felt like the maneuverability, stability, spin and control all added up to make this a very solid serving racquet. I would've liked just a tad more pop on my serves, but other than that, no complaints." Whilst Sue agreed, “I love the colour. It would take a bit of time getting used to.. having something so bright in my hand, but at least you can see it hitting the ball.” Versatility: The Radical MP is marketed as the all-court player’s racquet in the Head lineup. It works well for a variety of playing styles, including power baseliner, counter-punching, and serve and volley.Wilson Blade– The Blade is a bit more comfortable than the Radical and will provide a bit better control. There are versions for most skill levels as well. This meant that when I went for my most ambitious, line-hugging shots I wasn’t as precise as I would normally be. The Radical MP followed the same pattern on the serve as it did on the groundstrokes and the volleys. The Radical will attract players who like to hit cleanly from the baseline that need a laser guidance system to play their shots. I got more power and precision from the Radical than the Pure Drive. The Radical is certainly not as forgiving as the Pure Drive and this fact may sway many buyers Final Words

The new Head Radical MP is a seriously precise frame for players looking for great accuracy on groundstrokes. The newest version of the Head Radical Pro is one of the all-around best tennis racquets for advanced players on the market. It has enough power from the baseline, while still being built more for control. Advanced singles and doubles players who want a good blend of comfort, feel, and stability will like the Radical Pro. It is great for players who can create their own power and control the point with precision and spin. Head Prestige– The Prestige is a slightly more control-oriented racquet than the Radical. Advanced players will find better touch and feel with less power. The racquet is easy to swing and maneuver for its weight as well. At the net, the handling was great. While it doesn’t have quite the feel or stability of a racquet like the Head Prestige, it is still solid on volleys. Always looking to close the point out at net, Erik found that the updated Radical MP suited his volley game well. He said, "This racquet was very solid on volleys. I found it to have a nice blend of maneuverability and stability. It was easy to hit volleys deep in the court due to the slightly higher launch angle. This racquet also had really nice feel at net, and I felt connected to the ball overall, especially when hitting drop volleys." Serves - Score: 82

However, if you play with more medium-paced swings then it could certainly be worth taking a look at. To help me get the most out of the Radical MP, I strung it up with Head RIP Control string at 56lbs. Kristen - "I haven't spent much time with previous Radicals, but I have recently tested the updated Head Extreme MP. I found this Radical MP to be more controlled and comfortable than the Extreme MP while offering similar access to easy topspin and depth. Another comparable racquet that comes to mind would be the Babolat Pure Strike 16x19." The spin and power levels were spot on so long as you weren’t swinging too aggressively, and I found the Graphene 360 Radical MP to be more comfortable than previous versions. I was able to keep my opponent under pressure by playing with good depth and spin, the difficulties came when I wanted to up the pace and be more aggressive.

History of the HEAD Radical

Having debuted in 1993, HEAD's Radical series has consistently been chosen by the world's best players. Originally developed specifically for Andre Agassi, the Head Radical series was established as one of the finest in tennis history thanks to Agassi's success in the mid-1990s and early 2000s, winning an Olympic Gold Medal and achieving a Career Grand Slam. Following Agassi's success, the legacy of Head Radical has been continued by Grand-Slam winners such as Amelie Mauresmo, Sloane Stephens and Andy Murray, making it the choice of the world's most versatile players.
