Cut off a triangle-shaped section at the base of the handle, as shown in the first picture. This will create a flat edge that is flush with the bottom of the base when then handle is at a 20-30 degree angle, making it easier and more stable for the rider to hold comfortably while flying. In 1926, the brothers Bob, Bill, and Barnaby Ollerton formed the Cleansweep Broom Company, and the racing broom was born. Their first model, the Cleansweep One, was produced in large quantities and was an instant hit. Three years later, in 1929, Randolph Keitch and Basil Horton formed the Comet Trading Company and released the Comet 140 with a patented Horton-Keitch Braking Charm. For several years, the Cleansweep-Comet rivalry dominated the field, until the creation of the Nimbus Racing Broom Company in 1967. The Nimbus brooms combined reliability and easy handling, and became a favourite for Quidditch teams across Europe. [6]
Two Ninety: Mentioned only in passing, the Two Ninety is evidently the latest Comet model in Harry's fifth year. Ron, comparing it to his new Cleansweep Eleven, mentions that the Comet Two Ninety will do 0 to 60 in ten seconds. Due to the self-isolation I didn’t have any mid oak dye, so I’ve had to use a solvent-based dark oak dye that I did have, which is a bit of a shame but it’s not too much darker than the Diagon Alley broom colour. The shaft is now lacquered in a satin finish. On the other hand, the performance of a broom cannot depend exclusively on the magic imprinted on it by the maker. Neville or Hermione, for example, would not fly really well even on a Firebolt, so I guess it depends on the rider as well. On looking at the various stills from the film it became obvious that there were at least 4 different brooms used in shooting, each a little different to the others. So hopefully without compromising the overall design I’ve blended some of the minor differences in detail from 3 of the original brooms into my final design. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, it was mentioned that Ron's old Shooting Star was often outstripped by passing butterflies. In the main, I used the pictures from the Diagon Alley shop window, the table-top unwrapping of the new broom and those of Ron Weasley holding the broken broom (this shows the laminated construction particularly well). The shape of my broom wasn't quite right in retrospect. The head of the broom should be a bit larger and have a flatter profile, almost coming to a point if seen from above like an oar or paddle. Easily rectified if I build another one.

Thread about half of the remaining "long" rope up through the left side of the horizontal stabilizer and then through one end of the chain as shown in the second picture, making sure the rope is long enough to reach the left post/branch/etc. from which you will be hanging the broom. the Nimbus 2000 is the broom Harry receives in his first year at Hogwarts.
