The first entry in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series came out in 2007, when I was almost twelve years old — meaning I was a part of the target audience.

It says that the book is about Greg and Rowley making a movie together, but that doesn't happen until the very end. He also says that when Manny played soccer, his team never got a goal, due to Tucker, the goalie spending the rest of soccer stuffing grass in his belly button. Greg later discusses how the Spinetickler's books give him nightmares and how he regrets reading them, like the dream he got a tail and people were jealous of him. He thinks that if Rodrick is being payed to be like, how he is, they could be friends in actual life and chill. The scene where Greg "blaps" in band class is currently the only known time where he actually poops his pants in the books (even if it isn't outright mentioned).Maybe it was the psycho cackling witch (I once had an Elmo doll ask me from a silent, darkened closet "Do you want to play with Elmo?

I thought the book was amazing there is a balloon contest where Gregory balloon fell down the balloon when someone found expected a cash reward but Never got it. The Cheese Touch is also discussed, and how other students keep trying to bring it back in a different form such as a Roast Beef Touch; however, the kids unsuccessfully try to make it work. This may be due to an editing conflict or a large influx of vandalism or spam that may result from being a highly visited page. Greg talks incessantly about aliens, reality shows, dreams, his mother's classes at school, french horn lessons, Halloween parties, and oh yeah, making a movie to get rich quick.I feel like this book really just talks about how parents act, which makes me connect in a lot of ways. Days later, while Greg is forced by Frank to sort and clean the cabinet that fell, Rowley gains fame from the local news after the movie-making incident, to Greg's annoyance and the rejection of any statements that he had made at the beginning of the book regarding fame. Wheadon of Common Sense Media wrote that "when Kinney sticks to his Halloween theme, the story feels fresh and holds together well. After finishing his chores, Greg goes to eat the giant candy corn that he won but finds that the pig has eaten it.

He feels guilty when he tries to see Alex Aruda's test answers, because he knows that all his relatives see him when he cheats. Wanting Halloween candy, Greg enters a contest at school in which students release balloons with letters attached, and the student whose balloon goes the farthest wins a jar of candy corn.This series was cutting edge ten years ago, but now it has become so over- played I feel like Diary of a Wimpy Kid is ripping off Diary of a Wimpy Kid. However the people that found the balloon were people that didn't have tv or electronic games of any sort. The Wimpy Kid books are certainly written with elementary and middle schoolers in mind, but I still enjoy them.
