About this deal

You get the full per-key RGB experience, as well as a nice brushed aluminum and even Cherry-branded mechanical switches. I think that what makes it difficult to type on it is that it has "Speed" switches — which have lower actuation distance.

This keyboard subs out the Cherry Viola switches from the regular RGB Pro with fancier Cherry MX RGB Low Profile Speed switches, which are constructed a little sturdier and require a little less force to press. We ship all products in unopened boxes directly as received from our manufacturer in brand new and in perfect condition. The CORSAIR K60 RGB PRO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is built for both style and substance with a durable brushed aluminum frame and CHERRY MX Speed mechanical keyswitches. It's comfortable to type on due to its low profile, and the Cherry MX Low Profile Speed switches don't make a lot of noise, so it shouldn't bother those around you.Powerful CORSAIR iCUE software unlocks vivid dynamic RGB lighting control, sophisticated macro programming, and full-system lighting synchronization with compatible CORSAIR iCUE-enabled Devices. It's a well-built keyboard with full RGB backlighting, and it's comfortable to use for long periods. But because of how comfortable this keyboard feels during casual use, I’m willing to train up to be more attuned to how a low profile keyboard feels. You can control the brightness on the keyboard using FN + F3/F4, but you need Corsair's iCUE software to customize the color and various lighting effects. That said, input mistakes were less frequent than when typing, and that’s because I have pretty good muscle memory for where the WASD and shift keys are, among others.

I much prefer the Cherry MX Low Profile Speed switches with the Corsair K60 RGB Pro and the software support is far superior, which is also why you pay a small premium for such luxuries. There's no doubt that the array of LED lights has become the main draw of the keyboard and the feature I deal with the most on a daily basis. On the other hand, the K60 has a better build quality, onboard memory, and its linear Speed switches don't make as much typing noise. If you're not a fan of the switches you can always opt for the K60 Pro SE, but even then, your choices are still fairly limited. However, the Corsair is more comfortable to type on due to its low profile, and the iCUE software lets you save more custom profiles. Her work has been published in publications like Paste, The Atlantic, and Kill Screen, just to name a few.
