Depending on the paper being used, the pigments can be completely dissolved, and will then behave in the same way as classic watercolour paints.The smaller book has a lovely soft feel cover, and is just larger than A5, meaning you can slip it in your bag and take it wherever you go- I used mine in the doctor's waiting room yesterday!
