About this deal

As the Brendan family use the monkeys ear for their wishes they start to get hairier and more animalistic. Horowitz Horror is a strange and tangled world where the uncanny and the petrifying are lurking in every shadow, where a bus ride home can turn into your worst fantasy and where your bathtub is sure to be hungry for blood. No problems though, until we read The Night Bus - a time-warp story that depends for its effect on knowing the difference between British pre-decimal and decimal coins. Me han gustado, se leen rápido, se disfrutan y ideales para estas épocas de Halloween y Día de muertos. Two boys trying to get home after a late night party jump on a night bus which is, alas, not the one from Harry Potter.

Excellent narrative, super

He becomes bored with the idyllic existence, and wants to move to Hell – but it is revealed he was there all along (this story is similar to the Twilight Zone episode " A Nice Place to Visit").

Timothy's aunt, who no longer loves her husband, has replaced the sun tan lotion with cooking oil, burning her husband's skin.Flight 715 – A girl has a nightmare, in which she foresees that the airliner which is about to fly her family home from a vacation in Vancouver is destined to crash. A Vividly imagined journey with the introduction of quirky characters makes this short story enticing and engaging. The short stories were great, my only problem was that each story was quite predictable in its ending, but that doesn't take away much from the stories themselves because they were still rather interesting (the reason for the 4 stars). Bath night 2/5- Anthony uses effective imagery techniques to make the bath and Isabella’s visions horrifying and frightening.

However, one of the names it gives – "Light Moves" – is the name of a company whose van runs over the bully. It has a weak ending, and as in previous tales, some of the devices for moving the plot along are clunky. It doesn't take the seller of the camera saying the owner's disappeared for you to know bad things will happen to the subject of any pictures. Some of the stories were actually a little spooky and rather silly in the best way, each one just as entertaining as the last. However, I feel the story was overtly complicated and the ending leaves more questions then answers. The story is nothing more than one of the boys - Nick - watching people get on and off the bus, each arrival further spelling out the twist we got from their first conversation with the conductor upon arriving at the bus. After all, the picture showed the old man smiling so was it a premonition of hope that things would work out eventually? Horowitz Horror was first published in 1999 and contains nine short stories where the protagonist is predominantly a younger person, as such is seems to be written for a preadult audience. However, I feel “Killer Camera’s” entire premise is exactly the same as “Say cheese and Die” with a camera snap that leads to misfortune to the objects or people snapped. Which will scare you to your worst nightmares but is still a very enjoyable book(if you like horror).

Gary then has to endure the pain of seeing other ignorant children snap his branches and pull his leaves. When Matt then gives the camera to his dad as a present, the latter professes it is too dark to take a picture of younger son Jamie.

I liked the nonchalant tone Anthony uses prior to the crash as many misfortunes in life often often occur without warning.
