About this deal

A pacy and intense crime story that sees Private Detectives Tim and Nick Diamond attempt to solve the mystery of a Malteaser box delivered to them under suspicious circumstances. Tim Diamond runs the world’s worst private detective agency along with his long suffering little brother Nick. The police were watching Naples, because of various criminals that, they suspected, would also be interested in the diamonds, and would be tailing him so they could inquire about the diamonds. A hilarious family film noir pastiche following the adventures of the hopelessly inept private detective Tim Diamond and his sharp witted brother Nick.

Four of Diamonds (2008): Similar to Three of Diamonds, but also includes The Greek Who Stole Christmas. Nick pushes a Beethoven piano out the upper-story window with Lauren's help onto the assassins' van, injuring them.A film adaptation based on the first novel The Falcon's Malteser was released in 1988 and it was entitled Just Ask for Diamond. Almost pleasant conversation elapses into threats when Nick tells the Fat Man that they do not have the box.

The author doesn't dumb down the investigation just keeps it shorter and a little simpler for his younger audience. When a dwarf comes into the office and leaves a package, Tim Diamond, the world's worst private-detective, is faced with his toughest case yet. It turns out that the pseudonym Fat Man is rather inappropriate – when the man himself is finally revealed, he is one of the thinnest men Nick has ever seen, with the rings on his fingers slipping off almost constantly. The genre is Action and the book is about how a guy that changed his name to Tim diamond and also opened his own agency but he is the worst detective of all time. The brothers have many hair-raising adventures, including one in which they are chased by a small plane in a scene reminiscent of Hitchcock's classic film North by Northwest, of which the book's title is a reference to and the book's plot spoofs. In The Diamond Brothers in… The French Confection (2002), the Diamond Brothers win a trip to Paris thanks to a French strawberry yoghurt, but accidentally get caught up in a drug smuggling ring and end up being forced to team up with the Sûreté to take them down. One of the joys of Twitter, incidentally, is that it allows readers to contact me directly and these 140-character exchanges are as valuable to me as what the professional critics have to say. The message the author is trying to get to us is that not to give yourself away easily and not to trust everyone. In the end, Snape lets them go, but with a caution, saying he doesn't believe them and neither will anybody else.

Beatrice von Falkenberg: The Falcon's Dutch wife, Beatrice von Falkenberg was once the greatest actress in the Netherlands. The tale quickly escalates into a fight for the young protagonist Nick’s life, with him being kidnapped, shot at and given a pair of cement shoes. An original thriller, Magpie Murders was published last year and got some of the best reviews I've had. Seit ich Die "Malteser des Falken" zufällig in einer Buchhandlung in England entedeckt habe, liebe ich die Diamond Brothers Bücher von Anthony Horowitz.Next day, Johnny's dead, Tim feels the heat, and his smart younger brother, Nick, gets the package and every crook in town on his back! The humor in here is well balanced with the seriousness of the situation that, mostly Tim, find themselves in. The police picked him up in passport control at Heathrow, before losing him for a short while, until they found him at the Hotel Splendide in Portobello Road. Its relevance to the story is that one of the most dangerous criminals is in London and is trying to kill Tim and Nick Diamond. After cutting my teeth on the hugely popular show, Robin of Sherwood, I moved on to work with David Suchet and his brilliant portrayal of Hercule Poirot, writing about nine or ten episodes of Agatha Christie's Poirot.

I hope, if you read it, you'll enjoy all the clues, the red herrings, the bizarre range of suspects and the occasionally violent twists. The Falcon's widow, Beatrice von Falkenberg, claims that she deserves the diamonds (she is really poor and has had to sell all her property except her mansion) and threatens Nick with an alligator to make him promise to give her the Maltesers. Tim is the world’s worst private investigator, so can the help of his clever younger brother Nick be enough to crack their toughest case yet? The first in this series that my 8yo son keeps borrowing for me to read from his school library (he has already read them, and has recommended to me! A plain-clothes police man, disguised as a drunk in the street, arrests them, and they are sent to Ladbroke Grove Police Station, where Herbert's old boss, Chief Inspector Snape, accompanied by his violent assistant Boyle, arrives to question them.I am a big fan of Raymond Chandler and Dashiel Hammett and I loved the comical take on the wise cracking hardboiled dialogue of the above authors. Although Nick’s efforts to salvage his older brother’s hopeless attempts at being a detective were always so quick witted, I did sometimes feel a little lost amidst the antics of the siblings and the deprecating commentary, rather than focusing on the greater goings on within the crime industry. Its got everything you need in a good book - peril/suspension/love/twists and turns and a decent ending.
