About this deal

So successful were the books that a UK television series was written and produced by La Plante starring Kelly Reilly and Ciarán Hinds. It is interesting to watch investigations being dealt with “old school” without the aid of mobile phones and the internet but for me it gave me the chance to watch the characters develop and see how their skills and styles could compliment and hinder the investigations in equal measure. Prime Suspect starred Helen Mirren as DCI Jane Tennison, airing in the UK as well as on PBS in the United States as part of the anthology program Mystery! The investigation will place Jane between developers keen to restart work and get the money rolling and a secretive Catholic diocese, desperate to sweep any evidence under the carpet.

Tennison and Lawrence make a formidable team he’s an intriguing character, who I hope we see more of – but as the investigation heats up, Jane’s disappointed to be left on the sidelines. In that time the company has produced a stunning slate of innovative dramas with proven success and enduring international appeal. La Plante released Royal Flush (2002), and then began working on her Anna Travis series, which includes Above Suspicion (2004), The Red Dahlia (2005), Clean Cut (2007), Deadly Intent (2008), Silent Scream (2009), Blind Fury (2010), Blood Line (2011), Backlash (2012), and Wrongful Death (2013).

an eccentric widow claims she is being stalked by her former lodger, Detective Jack Warr is the only person who believes her wild claims. The plot concerned the widows of four armed robbers carrying out a heist planned by their deceased husbands. I was interested in the gender politics of the series, the way male officers would deride and try to undermine Tennison was shocking. Helena Lanark is the only one who knows about the horrors which once occurred in her family's house. She is also well-known as Lynda Marchal, which was her stage name when she performed with the Royal-Shakespeare Company in several productions.

Based on Lynda's best selling series of Anna Travis novels, Above Suspicion, Silent Scream, Deadly Intent and Silent Scream have all adapted into TV scripts and received impressive viewing figures. This novel finds Jane as DS Tennison and embroiled in the case of a body found on a building society, in a coffin. Where we land in Book 3 is a 1970s London where the peace is threatened by the IRA bombing campaign. At the start of this book she’s about to begin her secondment to CID when they approach her early, asking her to join them then, as it turns out they need a female for an undercover assignment and Jane fits the bill. The second book, once again following the Lorraine Page plot-line, is all about Page’s new place on the force and her first stab at finding a serial killer on her own. The heiress of an immense family fortune, she keeps the secret to the horror which once occurred with. In the same year she received the TV Spielfilm Award at the International Film and Television Festival Conference in Cologne, Germany, for her television adaptation of her novel Above Suspicion.
