About this deal

The Brambly Hedge series, famed for its intricate illustrations, began with four books – Spring Story, Summer Story, Autumn Story and Winter Story – chronicling the lives and adventures of a community of mice who live in the idyllic spot the series is named for. I doubt there was a single invertebrate in our summer patch that didn’t have cells partly formed from bramble carbohydrates and proteins, and while I value our garden brambles for many reasons, I love them most for this indiscriminate summer-long generosity.

When I was a kid I used to live in Northern California in this super small town where there really wasn't much to do besides go to the movies and go to the library (or in the summer there was the swimming pool). And be sure to check out my bio page to learn a little about me and the Picture Book/Chapter Book Calendars I sell on Etsy! Watch and celebrate the changing of the seasons with the mice of Brambly Hedge in this never-seen-before jigsaw format containing six 12-piece puzzles! It is very shade tolerant and thrives on poor soils, although it needs some sun to bear a decent crop of fruit. When they finally arrived, Wilfred was allowed to open up the hamper and there he found the best treat of all. Her interest in natural history and traditional rural customs and crafts has spilled over into these chronicles of hedgerow life. All our hedge plants are measured by their height in centimetres above the ground (the roots aren't measured).

Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. The Brambly Hedge is a collection of children's stories first published in the 1980s by beloved author Jill Barklem. The actual tree used by Jill Barklem to create this illustration is still to be found in Epping Forest today! If your soil is exceptionally poor and dry, then digging in some well rotted manure and/or compost is worthwhile. Keep in mind that anyone can view public collections - they may also appear in recommendations and other places. We think the plant's natural shape argues against planting the solid hedge as it will look more like a mounded bank which will be a very effective barrier but will look a bit curious if it is clipped.
